Local rental companies have long rented their cars with insurance included and without a deposit. Much of online car rental is sold on the car alone: the insurance comes separately, and a deposit is blocked on the driver’s credit card at collection.

Local companies had no shared place online to offer their own way of renting. Local Car Rentals is that place: local companies, one set of terms, and cars handed over without a deposit and without a card held as security.

Search. Choose where and when you need the car, and see the cars the local companies offer for those dates, each with its price and the company’s name.

Book. Choose a car group and a cover level, and book with your name and contact details. No account and no card details are needed.

Confirmation. Most bookings are confirmed at once. Some, including every pick-up less than 24 hours away, are checked by the rental company first, so it can have the car ready. Your voucher arrives by email once the booking is confirmed.

Collection. The rental company hands over the car, signs the rental agreement with you and takes the payment, in cash or by card. No deposit is blocked.

Every rental includes cover. Under the rental contract the driver is responsible for damage up to the excess stated for the car, and a higher cover level, where offered, lowers it. Fuel, fines and tolls are the driver's.

As with any rental, traffic fines, fuel, tolls and similar costs of the rental are the customer’s. The difference is that no deposit is blocked in advance in case any of them happen.

Every rental company on Local Car Rentals has an agreement with Local Car Rentals and rents its cars on Local Car Rentals terms, the same terms for every company: no deposit, no card held as security, and the excess stated before the booking is made.

Within those terms, each company runs its own business. It offers its own cars, sets its own prices for each car group and season, chooses where it hands cars over, and states its own rental conditions. Its name is shown on every price.

Bookings reach the company at once, by email, by Telegram or in its own supplier portal. A company with its own booking system can connect it, so bookings are entered there directly. The company confirms the booking, hands over the car and signs the rental agreement with the customer.

Local Car Rentals is open to local rental companies that rent on the same terms.
