Your booking is arranged through Local Car Rentals. The rental agreement is signed with, and the payment made to, the rental company that hands over the car.
Nothing is paid online. No deposit is taken and no credit card is held as security: no amount is blocked or pre-authorised on any card. The rental is paid to the rental company when the car is collected, by cash or card. Every rental company offering cars through Local Car Rentals has agreed to this.
Every rental company offering cars through Local Car Rentals has agreed to provide them at the prices shown here. The amount on your voucher is the amount paid when the car is collected; nothing is added to it for the rental itself.
The cover levels offered are Standard insurance coverage and Premium insurance coverage. The cover level chosen and its excess are the ones stated on the voucher. Up to that excess the driver is responsible for damage to the car, as set out in the rental contract.
A booking is confirmed straight away when the rental company keeps cars available for Local Car Rentals or its own system confirms the car.
A booking is a request when the rental company answers each booking itself, when the pickup is less than 24 hours away, or when it falls inside the notice period a rental company asks for: the rental company first checks that it has a car for your dates, and your booking is final only when it confirms. No answering time is promised. If it cannot serve the request, you are told and nothing is owed.
