What a booking keeps, why, and who sees it.

A booking keeps what the booking form asks for: the driver's name, email address and phone number, the driver's age, the dates and times, where the car is collected and returned (with the port arrival point, ferry name or hotel when given), the car, cover and extras chosen, any remarks, and the time and internet address from which the terms were accepted. When a rental is finished or a rental company reports a booking as cancelled, the booking also keeps the rating the customer gave and the customer's answer to the cancellation notice.

Those details go to the rental company that hands over the car, by email, by message and, where it is connected, into its own booking system, because it cannot prepare the car without them. Booking emails are sent through an email delivery service, and Local Car Rentals keeps its own copy of each booking. The details are passed to nobody else and sold to nobody.

No card details are asked for or stored. The rental is paid to the rental company when the car is collected.

Bookings are kept for payments and future reference.

To ask what a booking holds or to have it corrected, write to Local Car Rentals at [email protected].

The map on the booking page is loaded from OpenStreetMap, which receives the visitor's internet address to send the map images. A position is read only when the customer presses "Use my position", and only the pin finally chosen is kept with the booking.

Until the company behind Local Car Rentals is registered, the details are kept by George Doumouchtsis, a private individual, who is responsible for them.
